What's the warranty period on a rebuilt pack? All rebuilds are warrantied for 120 days.   The warranty covers the repairs done by me and parts provided by me.  Most of these batteries are for systems that are 20+ years old.  Electronic parts do fail especially at that age.  The warranty doesn't cover issues relating to the customer equipment.  For example, the battery leads on the LTE Elite are prone to cold solder failures.  This is a system board fault.  I will however do everything possible to help you towards a resolution.  

My battery failed just outside of the warranty period.  Am I out of luck? If your battery fails on say... day 141, contact us anyways.  We want to help you within reason.  We're not bean counters.  

Where do you ship?  Ni-Cd/Ni-MH batteries, CF Cards can be shipped anywhere that isn't prohibited by USPS.  As of March 2023, Russia and Ukraine fall under the forbidden category.

Li-Ion batteries: US and Canada only.  These must travel only by ground.  There might be a shipping service that will go by air, but they're very expensive.  

Main battery shipment.  How do I get my battery to you?  I can send you a prepaid box if you're in the US or Canada.  International customers will need to supply their own packaging and postage.

I hate USPS.  Can you use UPS or FedEx? UPS and FedEx can be used but there will be at least 1 business day delay for these services.  If you need a same day drop-off for those two services, it's an additional $40 USD.   The nearest official UPS store/FedEx locations are over an hour away from my location.  

What's the turnaround? Generally 2-10 business days once I have the battery in my possession.  Do bear in mind I do have a full time job in addition to this business.  Things can get unpredictable.  Inventory obstacles happen too.  If I run into a delay, I'll let you know right away.

Why such a long turnaround time on some items?  I work a full time job in addition to offering this service.  More expensive items are ordered once a sale is made.  In a sense, they're made to order.  

My battery can't be rebuilt.  What now?  It does happen.  LTE 5000 and PowerBook 190/5300 series batteries are the most prone to this.  

1) It can either be put back together the best we can 

2) hollow out the battery and send it back  

3) I might be able to buy it for a parts unit.  This option probably won't come up often but I would like to keep it on the table.

Will you rebuild my Main Lithium Ion Battery? The answer at this time is no.

Let's say you do Li-Ion after all.  Can you upgrade my Nickel based battery to Li-Ion?  No.  I will install what the battery originally had in it. 

Do you offer repairs? It depends on the repair.

Will you recap those Citizen W1D disk drives? No.  They're too unpredictable.   There are alternatives like as OpenFlops W1D that may be a better solution.

Would you sell capacitor kits?  We're not Console5, we'll never be Console5 but if there is enough demand for capacitor kits I will sell kits.   

Can you recap my device?  My board level soldering work leaves a lot to be desired.  With that in mind, I will be very hesitant to offer recapping services.  There are better options out there.

I have a battery that's not on your list I would like to repair.  Can you rebuild it? Contact us and we'll see what we can do.  Bear in mind I probably cannot test it fully as I don't have a system to put it in.  I can test voltage.

Will you ever open an online store?  This is something I would like to offer.  It won't happen overnight.

You charge too much.  How do you sleep at night?  Very comfortably, thank you for asking.   Enough kidding aside, much like all folks in a skilled trade, we have to purchase and maintain tools, maintain inventory and worry about miscellaneous expenses such as fuel and shipping materials.  I run to the post office like a common resident.
